Challenge

Mexico is an origin, transit and destination country of victims of contemporary forms of slavery, including trafficking in women and girls and all forms of exploitation, with high rates of internal trafficking. Last year we served at least 200 new cases of this felonies. Mexican authorities do not have the due diligence to serve the victims ones they are free. That's when the NGO's comes in to help victims become survivors and give them new ways of life and even a new meaning for them.

Solution

Providing integral care from the legal to the medical, including productive projects and formal education. We seek to empower women and girls who are survivors to know and understand that they have other purposes, and seek to empower them with tangible tools and with a high knowledge of their rights, to live a life free of violence.

Long-Term Impact

The problem is that, unfortunately, Mexican authorities do not have the capacity to provide comprehensive care, nor new life projects that understand the high needs that victims of human trafficking and contemporary forms of slavery need. For this reason, in the long term, we expect our model of care to pass on to the authorities and begin to be implanted. On the other hand, with this project we will attend to at least 50 survivors and their families.
