Summary

The Fresh Start program offers Wildfire Survivors whose lives have been turned upside down by the loss of not only their homes and possessions but also may include the entire town and their place of employment. A Fresh Start offers survivors relocation assistance to a new town/neighborhood. This can include down payment assistance, rental assistance and funding for household items that may have been lost to the disaster/wildfire.

Challenge

When a natural disaster strikes, families often loose their home and belongings. Recovering from such loss is expensive and traumatic. Some survivors do not have the emotional capacity, finances or desire to endure a lengthy rebuild process. A Fresh Start in a new community/town offers hope and new beginnings.

Solution

The Fresh Start program offers down payment assistance, rental deposits and funding for replacing needed household items that have been lost due to the natural disaster.

Long-Term Impact

Families will have a fresh start and avoid homelessness.
