Congratulations to Maina Kio and the CFW team in Kenya for the excellent results so far in 2013. Comparing January through May of 2013 to the equivalent months in 2012, we find that the CFW network in Kenya has served 11% more people in-store--and double the number of people through oureach events--in 2013.
We're on track for a great year, and appreciate everyone's support!
Along with this project update, we're including the link to a recent NY Times Op-Ed piece describing a study on the quality of TB drugs collected from 17 countries (including Kenya). We'd encourage you to read this short op-ed piece, one of many pointing to the prevalence of substandard drugs in Africa (and elsewhere). Such information underscores the importance of HealthStore's mission to improve access to high-quality essential medicines and basic healthcare.
