We offer a wide range of crisis response workshops through our Forward Volunteers program. We train citizens in disaster preparedness, field medical care, light search and rescue, communications, navigation, and much more. We have worked with over ten thousand individuals, and are collaborating with the Taiwanese government to help pilot and develop additional disaster preparedness programs. We invite you to help us expand nationally!
Taiwan is susceptible to a range of national security threats - from natural disasters to man-made crises. At the same time, like many democracies around the world, we face increasing polarization across society. We need to enhance national resilience by finding common ground, to confront Taiwan's most pressing challenges.
This project will help achieve our core mission of bringing people together. The Forward Volunteer Corps was created to provide avenues for citizens to serve, and to offer crisis response training so local leaders and volunteers have the knowledge, resources and organization to help those in need when disaster strikes. We work with churches, schools, and NGOs, to empower existing pillars of the community to take action on good days and bad.
One of the most important impacts of Forward Alliance's work is responsible citizenship, which is enhanced through public service, common goals, and a shared identity. We believe that deepening public trust in each other is essential to strengthening the social fabric and building solidarity. An engaged and active citizenry - united behind a common cause - is foundational to Taiwan's resiliency, and a bedrock to a safer, more prosperous, and more just society.
