Last week, I was giving a tour to a group of Brownies. It had not dawned on me that any of them might be part of needy families. But when I asked if any of their families hadn't had enough food, I was stunned when one little girl raised her hand.
It was a strong reminder that people are struggling all around us. They are people we would never expect, but are secretly in need. Sometimes is is because they aren't aware of services, and sometimes, they are embarrassed.
Later, I took one of the leaders aside to ask for more information about the child's circumstances. The leader had been surprised by the girl's response and promised to check into the situation. I asked her to encourage the familiy to come to Burbank Temporary Aid Center (BTAC) for assistance.
This is just one example the work BTAC is doing.
But it wouldn't happen, if donors like you didn't generously support our work. Your donations help keep our shelves filled with groceries. These groceries not only provide physical sustenance, but emotional sustenance. It is knowning they aren't alone in thier struggle that means the most to many of BTAC's clients.
Thankyou for your support and the role you play in make sure BTAC can continue serving the community.
