The hectic holidays are behind us. Many generous and kind people dropped off groceries to help fill Burbank Temporary Aid Center's (BTAC) shelves. But after January 1st of each year, it takes a while before they think of us, again.
Sadly, the economic challenges faced by so many of our clients don't take a break. They still keep parents away at night, as they wonder how they are going to provide for thier family.
That is why your donation is so important. When the stock on our shelves begins to dwindle, donations like yours help us purchase the items we need the most. Things like tuna fish, peanut butter and dairy products. They may seem like ordinary items in our own pantries, but to a single mother trying to raise a family, it is a treasure.
This year, 2014, BTAC is celebrating 40 years of service in the community. Recently, a local columnist wrote about teh work we are doing. I have included a link to the website.
We sometimes overuse the saying 'it takes a village'. But in BTAC's case, it is very true. You are part of the village that keeps hunger from the doorstep of almost 3,000 households in Burbank. That translates to almost 10,000 people. So our village is really making a difference. We couldn't do it without you.
Thanks so much for your help!
