Long lines for Homeless Lunches

Each day at about 10:30 a.m. the line for lunches begins to grow.  It snakes along the sidewalk in front of Burbank Tempoary Aid Center, almost to the end of the block.

In the line are many we might consider "typical homeless", the men we see on benches, at intersections, etc. around town.  But interspersed in the group are a growing number of women, families and seniors.  One man explained that he and his 54 year old mother were homeless.  This took me aback, because she and I are the same age.  I couldn't begin to imagine what it would feel like to be homeless as I approach my retirement years.

These humble people come everyday to pick up the sack lunch provided by BTAC.  Often, it is the only meal of thier day.  Thanks to your support, we are able to meet the need, offering substantial sack lunches for the homeless.

We hear their thanks every day, but I want to pass it along to you.  Because without you, we couldn't do it.
