We are proud to announce that we have now opened a Cleft Palate Surgery Center at the Dr Jesus A. Datu Medical Center. Our team leader and Ear Nose And Throat surgeon Dr. Loh is spearheading this much needed service in conjunction with Operation Smile. Patients undergo careful screening prior to surgery and receive close followup after surgery. We have established a speech therapy department to help the recipients.

Our Maternity Clinic continues to operate successfuly, 24 hours a day, providing a safe place for mothers to deliver their child. There are two obstetricians and two midwives staffing the clinic.

Are other departments such as Prosthetics, Eye Center, continue to be fully operational and successful.

Thank you for your support in helping those less fortunate.

The Dr Jesus A. Datu Medical Center is proud to host the Operation Smile International Surgical Mission the week of June 20, 2015. Hundreds of potential patients come from all over the country for evaluation and potential surgery for cleft lip and palate deformities, all done by skiilled, volunteer physicians, surgeons, nurses from all over the world!  The Kapampangan Development Foundation spearheaded by Sylvia Munoz Ordonez and Ben Ricafort, have been instrumental in bringing Operation Smile to the JADMC. This is an annual event which we hope to continue for years to come.

MATERNITY AREA

The week of February 12, 2015, Love for Life members visited the Dr. Jesus A. Datu Medical Center, (JADMC). This is the only charity hospital in the province of Pampanga.

We continue to work with the Department of Health to expand our license to become a LEVEL 2 hospital. This takes a lot of work but will eventually be worthwhile. In the meantime we are doing what we can to help the poor with what we have.

In the meantime the JADMC is busy with our programs, including SEEING CLEARLY (cataracts) and WALKING FREE (prosthetics). With the help of our volunteer doctors, we have helped thousands of indigent people see again so they may lead productive lives. With our prosthetics department, we have helped individuals walk again so they can find work.

Our new project is a maternity clinic. The Philippines has one of the highest maternal fetal mortality rates in the world. We want to reduce that by providing a safe place for women in rural and remote areas to deliver their child. We provide prenatal and postnatal education as well, which is vital. We expect a high demand for our services. We hope you can help!

We remain super, super busy!!! Earlier this month, we had our annual gathering with our partners, donors and friends in thanksgiving for all the blessings of year 2013.
In partnership with the Operation Smile we held our three day cleft lip/ cleft palate mini surgical mission with a target of 40 patients. This is our Second mission for the year.
Last December 1, the first baby was delivered at JADMC. We have more than 40 pre natal patients scheduled to deliver in the next 3 months. This is part of our expansion into a maternity center for non-complicated births, providing a safe and healthy environment for mother and child prenatally and in the post partum period.  We hope to make an impact in reducing the maternal and fetal mortality in the Philippines, which is one of the highest in the world.  Our regular programs, prosthetics, family wellness, dental health, are ongoing. This includes the livelihood program where we teach patients basic farming skills so they can be self sufficient.
Thank you for your ongoing belief and support in helping one of the poorest regions of the world.
