By JOYCELYN A. DATU MD | CHAIRPERSON
The week of February 12, 2015, Love for Life members visited the Dr. Jesus A. Datu Medical Center, (JADMC). This is the only charity hospital in the province of Pampanga.
We continue to work with the Department of Health to expand our license to become a LEVEL 2 hospital. This takes a lot of work but will eventually be worthwhile. In the meantime we are doing what we can to help the poor with what we have.
In the meantime the JADMC is busy with our programs, including SEEING CLEARLY (cataracts) and WALKING FREE (prosthetics). With the help of our volunteer doctors, we have helped thousands of indigent people see again so they may lead productive lives. With our prosthetics department, we have helped individuals walk again so they can find work.
Our new project is a maternity clinic. The Philippines has one of the highest maternal fetal mortality rates in the world. We want to reduce that by providing a safe place for women in rural and remote areas to deliver their child. We provide prenatal and postnatal education as well, which is vital. We expect a high demand for our services. We hope you can help!
