Child who work in the street experience are victims of multiple violations of their human rights, with your support, we can reverse these effects, we seek that 90 children and young street workers know and exercise their rights. Our challenge is for them to continue studying beyond basic education. We will combat child and youth work in public spaces with education, through psycho-educational processes that are integral to them and their families. The street is not a place to live or work.
In Mexico City, thousands of children between the ages of 5 and 17 are working, many of them are not in school. In the streets, they are exposed to violence, abuse, drugs and exploitation. This situation makes it difficult for them to have access to better living conditions. Those who continue to study are likely to drop out of school or not perform well because of their adverse socio-family contexts. We want everyone to return to school and extend their education.
ednica operates in three community centers, so that girls, boys and adolescents street workers, know and exercise their human rights, focused on their education. With your help, through non-formal education processes and the development of cognitive skills, we can help improve your school performance and prevent them from dropping out of school. Their integral development is strengthened with actions to care for their physical and emotional health, and care for their families.
In the short term, working children and young people in the public space that participates in Ednica I. A. P.'s activities. can shorten your working hours to help you study. In the long term, each child and adolescent will be able to cancel work, learn about and exercise his or her right to education and extend his or her school career beyond basic education. With the aim of achieving different opportunities that allow them to live in dignity outside the public space.
