MSR has declared May of each year ‘Make South Africa Work Month'. The Campaign kicks off on the day before Workers Day as a reminder to all those that are in work that there are thousands of people who are unemployed. The idea is to stimulate action and suggest ways in which everyone can help create jobs,
2010 was the first year which saw us launching the awareness campaign on Workers Day, MSR members marched peacefully through the streets of Cape Town. On the mornings of 30 April and 1 May, a poster campaign was conducted at MSR pick-up points around the country. Workers and supporters of job creation wore a MSR yellow ribbon armband to show their support.
We encourage South Africans to realize that it is possible for them to create work. In the month of May we want those who can to create a job for a day, a week, a month, or even permanently.
