Challenge

Recent figures show that New York State is home to 838,000 veterans and it is one of the four states that accounted for 50% of the nation's homeless veterans facing besides, hunger. Of all the homeless people in the US, 11% have been in the military. In Dominican Republic there are currently more than 100,000 veterans starving and living in extreme poverty, according to the census in 2019, and after COVID-19 this number increased

Solution

WVFS provides a daily program of nutritious food and assistance to starving veterans (individuals or with family). Transportation, delivery, and assistance for veterans seniors, or with disabilities. Reduce hunger among veterans homeless

Long-Term Impact

The project will feed 1000 veterans per week allowing them to rise out of hunger, which provide for veterans and their families health and well being
