20 families in the Cyaruzinge community have kitchen gardens which
were built with the assistance of GlobeMed students back in the summer
of 2016. These gardens contain cabbage, spinach, carrots, and dodo.
Community members have reported to HDI staff that they are now
regularly eating more vegetables than they did before they had the
gardens. They told us that they now eat more nutritiously than they
did before they received lessons on nutrition because they now know
how to mix vegetable consumption with other types of food every day.
It is easier for them eat vegetables whenever they want due to how
easily accessible the gardens are.
This program can still be expanded with more gardens and different
varieties of gardens in the future. HDI is looking forward to
welcoming more GlobeMed students in the summer of 2017! Thank you very
much for your continued support of the Community of Potters and their
efforts to eat healthier and more nutritious food.
