HDI would like to thank all of you for your support in getting this project up and running. The project has been a great success thus far.
HDI is very excited to have three interns from GlobeMed at Lawrence University here that have worked very hard to get the project going - Regina, Emma, and Bhavana. The three girls have successfully built 95 sac gardens for 19 families in the village of Masoro.
The building of the sac gardens was overseen by an expert gardener here in Rwanda, who spent two days showing the girls how to properly build the gardens, and on how to plant vegetables that would grow successfully this time of year. The building started at the end of June, and will continue through this week.
The girls along with community members built several gardens a week, and have held nutrition classes with cooking demonstrations to show how to cook nutritious meals with the vegetables grown in the gardens.
Thank you again for your support on behalf of the community, HDI, and the GlobeMed GROW team.
