ProCriança's project that was listed on Global Giving has been fully funded. In 2007 Dr. Rosa Celia the projects founder began work to find the funds to build a children's hospital to create a dedicated space where children in Rio de Janeiro with intricate heart surgeries can receive the treatment that they need. This hospital will treat children from poor families from the state of Rio de Janeiro and surrounding areas. Dra. Rosa has already found the funds (approx. USD$1 million) to purchase the land where the hospital will be built. Her supporters are now working on creating a business plan for the hospital and also the architectural drawings. In addition the hospital will provide children from families with the means to pay for the surgeries in this proposed state of the art facility. The poor childrens surgeries will continue to be funded through the efforts of the ProCriança Foundation. For more information about the Children's Hospital of Rio de Janeiro- please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. (MARCH 2007). Please see supporting docs for last posting on Global Giving project.
The project that was listed on Global Giving has now been fully funded and the amount raised was the equivalent of one heart surgery for a child. We want to thank all the donors that made contributions for this project as you are saving not only the life of a child - but entire families from the grief of losing a child and only because they could not afford the life saving surgery that is available to families of means. I have included in this update some preliminary information about a Childrens hospital that we are beginning to raise funding for - it will be this projects hospital. They are doing the work under the leadership of Dra. Rosa and her many believers.
