Within the Stick together project, our organization work in Smolensk region, in Russia. In "Stick together. Smolensky region" we re-establish the orphaned children links with their blood relatives and help families to reunite with their own children.
Children who are unlucky to get to the orphanage as a temporary measure have a risk to stay there for ages. Orphanage staff is focused on child-rearing rather than working with families, children came from, or with fostering families, children go to.
The main tasks of our team which works at the orphanage are to examine the circumstances under which children get into the orphanage (in order to identify any possibility of returning the child to the family); to organize and supervise meetings for children and parents; to assist parents in restoring parental rights; to consult fostering families. Since 2018, the fund is expending its geography to the city of Demidov.
The results of our work in 2019 are as follows: 7 families with 17 children received the support services of the Fund's specialists after they had managed to return the children from orphanages to their families; 71 children from orphanages were provided with 387 consultations on the ways to restore relationships with their relatives; 36 families with 87 children, all in difficult situations, were accompanied by the Fund's specialists and received comprehensive support services and assistance.
