For the past three months, we have been involved in several collaboration activities with local organizations. Our project was among 6 that were selected to participate in a forthcoming 2 week sensitization & mobilization event scheduled to start in mid November.
With our pool of volunteers and other supporters, our team will be responsible for providing logistical support in terms of distributing condoms, facilitating artistes participation and mobilizing young people at the grassroots level.
Our current status report indicates that over the past 3 months, we have been able to distribute 900 free condoms to college-based youth in the following areas: Kunji, Langas, Munyaka and Town center. This was with the support of student leaders organizations in the institutions.
The project has been very successful in identifying young people's needs and tapping into their talents, encouraging them to embrace diversity.
"We feel we are reconnecting with our target audience..reaching out to them and providing them with skills and personal development resources to enable them make informed choices," says Irene, one of our volunteers.
A recent government report commended our efforts in providing reproductive health services to under-served youth in rural areas.
We promise to continue utilizing your donations and expanding our reach so more youth can benefit. Thanks so much for being with us, for your contribution, your encouragement and other support.
