Khyber Eye Foundation, Hospital continued its effort to eradicate blindness and visiting various schools specially in villages and small towns to find out maximum children with refractive errors. During this period our Mobile School Screening project team also visited primary schools to find out children with refractive errors at a very early stage and were issued medicines and glasses to the children with refractive errors free of cost. Khyber Eye Foundation, Hospital also established free eye camps in following area to find out maximum patients with cataract problems so that surgery be performed in this hospital free of cost.
During visit to various schools the team screened 7220 schools going children and issued spectacles to 12450 children free of cost
Khyber Eye Foundation, Hospital provided free medicines worth of 11340 US dollars and glasses worth of 6237 US dollars to the patients during free eye camps and also performed 1200 cataract surgeries free of cost. It is worth mentioning here that all those children refer to this hospital with squint are referred to Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar where they are treated free of cost under agreement with this hospital.
