CURRENT PROGRESS OF THE PROJECT
JULY, 2013 TO SEPTEMBER, 2013
The Mobile School Screening Project team of Khyber Eye Foundation, Hospital worked with dedication putting their concerted effort to find out maximum school going children with refractive errors at a very early stage. The Mobile School Screening Team visit various school in outs skirts of Peshawar, so that maximum small / poor children are benefited. During the entire period the project team found out 456 children with refractive errors and issued them glasses free of cost, so that eye related problem is not aggravated. The Khyber Eye Foundation, Hospital also established free eye camps outs skirts of Peshawar and surrounding areas. Where eye care facilities were not available.
During the above camps the patients were given medicine and glasses free of cost and those patients who had cataract problem were referred to Khyber Eye Foundation, Hospital for operation where, they were operated free of cost. During free eye camps stress was given to children and women.
During visit to various schools the team screened 7236 children for refractive errors and issued spectacles to 495 students free of cost worth of $ 1085 and medicine worth of $ 1424.
