Challenge

Most students from low income earners are at risk of falling prey to bad peer pressure and societal vices because their schools do not have counseling or mentorship on their curriculum. This leaves the students vulnerable especially during holidays since many teenagers are sent to live with relatives in the villages or, their families host relatives. With minimal or no supervision at all, Initiation to vices like smoking, drug abuse, teenage sex and sexual abuse become rampant.

Solution

This project will train the students using the; 'Valiant youth and the I Am Enough Programs'. These programs provide the youth with self actualization skills, boost their esteem and help with personal judgment. Also, teach them about STDs, sexual, physical and emotional abuse and practical ways of dealing with sexual abuse. The training will teach them how to set up integrity clubs in their communities.

Long-Term Impact

Project will train 2000 teenagers allowing them to better themselves and make them role models and also help mentor other teenagers in their localities. The girls will teach others how avoid and not give in to sexual advances, how to ward off unwanted attention and report sexual abuse. The integrity clubs will have a positive ripple effect.
