Edge of Seven's Community Development Program (CDP) provides capacity-building services and volunteer support to infrastructure projects that create more access to education for for girls and women in the developing world. Since 2010, Edge of Seven has directly impacted 435 girls and 795 individuals in rural Nepal through community improvement projects, including the construction of three schools, two community water supplies, and one dormitory for girls seeking a higher education.
In 2013, Edge of Seven will continue it's work through the CDP in communities in Nepal and also tackle new initiatives to help girls and women in rural Tanzania. Projects planned for 2013 include:
Construction of a secondary school addition in the village of Miririni, Tanzania, located in the Mt. Meru region, to triple the size of the existing campus and create more access to education for girls in the area;
Construction of a Community and Education Center at the Mankhu Village Farm for Women in the Dhading District of Nepal to provide education, vocational training, and health services to displaced women living and working at the farm;
Construction of a classroom addition and female-sensitive sanitation system at Edge of Seven's recently-completed secondary school in the village of Basa in Nepal's Everest Region to provide more access to education for girls in the area.
