Greetings to Global Giving Family.
Maternal and perinatal mortality rates remain high in Uganda. Many women who develop complications during pregnancy, delivery or puerperium are at risk of dying or disability.Mayanja Memorial Hospital Foundation continues to support Mayanja Memorial Hospital to offer services to vulnerable mothers when they are giving child birth. During the report period July - October 2014 Mayanja Memorial Hospital Foundation has assisted the hospital to meet for 10 women who were assisted to have safe deliveries. Of the ten women four had caesarian deliveries and six had normal deliveries. All the women and their newborns left hospital in good health. If these women did not have the support from well wishers through the Foundation they would have opted to deliver at home or under the care of traditional birth attendants with possible complications. The foundation is grateful to Global Giving, other well wishers and Mayanja Memorial Hospital for all the support. We welcome more support to support more mothers.
