Ensure Kimbilio children eat - as food costs rise

Thank you so much for your financial support for the Kimbilio Project to ensure the street children can be fed as food costs rise. The cost of maize, which is essential in the preparation of the meals for the children, has risen significantly and your support enables Kimbilio to continue to purchase the sacks of maize required.

The street children coming to the Day Centre receive a bread roll (known as a 'pistolet') for breakfast, served with a scraping of margarine and a cup of juice. This is the standard Congolese breakfast. The lunchtime meal, which you see being prepared above, consists of boiled maize grain, known as 'bukari', green vegetable soup and a little fried fish. The children are always very grateful for their food.

Thank you so much for donating to the Kimbilio Project to provide food for children living on the streets while prices rise. Costs have risen so much in the last year and your support has enabled Kimbilio to continue this vital wirk.The children really struggle to survive on the streets and by providing a nourishing meal alongside washing facilities and care and attention, Kimbilio is able to help the children through this difficult period in their lives.

It is shocking to find children as young as five or six living on the streets, through no fault of their own, and the opportinity to come to the Day Centre and be cared for is so important for them.
