This concept note indicates a means through which a proposed capacity building project for youth in leadership positions in schools in Juba Central Equatoria State will be implemented. These series of activities will be implemented for one year with an average of one activity per month. This project is expected to benefit three hundred (300) students selected from various schools. Your donations towards this project will inspire the next generation of students leaders in South Sudan.
In Juba just like any other part of South Sudan, youth have influential power to push for economic, social, cultural and leadership reforms in the family, community & in their schools. However, these youth leaders who are the future of the country hold huge potential to transform their communities in to peaceful and democratic societies but the lack of technical skills and knowledge on transformational leadership, active citizenship and peace building holds them down from actively taking part
During one of our peace training conducted in February this year, 80% of the students who attended recommended for more capacity enhancement programs to boost their potentials to meaningfully participate in development activities in schools, promote good governance and to also advocate for their rights and inclusion in leadership and peace building programs. Through this project TIDE will organise capacity building trainings on transformational leadership, active citizenship and peace building.
To enhance capacity and build a community of vibrant youth and students leaders who will use their powers and voices to advocate for inclusion in decision making process and actively participation in championing development agenda of their communities and country at large in the long run.
