Summary

The project on enhancement of women capacity to trade in local markets will build capacity & inhance capacity of 237 Women of 10 wards of Hai districts & 10 wards of Arusha districts on business strategy, external market access, farms produce storage & value addition, they will understand the strategy for sales of their produce, how to reach other markets in neighboring and will give them an introduction to storing farms produce to be able to sale them after a period of time.

Challenge

Women gives their strength to business but they encounter loss because of lack of knowledge, they lack business strategy to sale more of what they have, they do not know how to add value on farms produce such as fruits, greens, maize, beans, bananas... they are challenged by lack of knowlege on value chain, they need to know where in neighbourhood there is demand, don't know regulations to trade out of their environment. they are not aware of Roole of origin (RoO), requirements &EAC MARKET.

Solution

After the training, women will increase trade, income, will know value chain, Women will be able to store farms produce and sale at later time, will increase capacity and network with others from different districts & neighboring, will know better East Africa Community markets, will create market demand through business strategy, Women will improve their life condition, create new businesses, send kids to school, solve health problem & keep some income for future use for their household.

Long-Term Impact

There will be a group of Women in wards that will be able to trade, government revenues will increases at Ward & District level, Women will create a healthy family at household level, Women will increase their capacity that will be extended to other family members, they will create an environment of business that will attract others to be involved and will increase more women traders in the market, others will learn from their success and they will create a happy family from their dependents.
