The Engage the Vision Youth Empowerment project provides mentoring for 4th, 5th, and middle school boys and NOW GIRLS in Los Angeles. Primarily in South Central LA where we serve almost all low income and minority youth. We partner with Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School and provide mentoring EVERY FRIDAY OF THE SCHOOL YEAR! We are raising funds to provide field trips, food and supplemental life education to our youth.
94% of our youth at MLK Jr. Elementary School qualify for free and reduced lunches. Over 90% of our youth at MLK don't have a positive male role model in their life! And, over half of our youth at MLK have never been out of their neighborhood, to the beach or to the movies!
Our project provides positive male role models, food and field trips!
Our youth are taught meditation to help control, alleviate and process emotions. Our youth receive unconditional love and are taught about healthy relationships, how to communicate with eachother and their families. We help them process home life, school needs and teach them affirmations! Our boys tell us that ETV has helped them adjust within their families because they receive love from our mentors. The parents of the boys that participate in ETV have told us that their sons are respectful
