Thanks to your support, we are helping 100 young farmers in ecological agriculture.
We are truly grateful to be selected as one of the organizations you are helping, and we invite you to share this project with your friends and family.
In response to high levels of food scarcity, obesity, and nutrition-related illness in rural Oaxaca, Puente proposes working with farmer families to grow, consume, and commercialize amaranth, a pseudo-cereal that contains high levels of protein, calcium, fiber, iron, vitamin C, and phosphorus compared with other grains.
This project aims to empower rural and indigenous young families to farm amaranth using agro-ecological methods, improve nutrition and health, and organize with other community members to create jobs and economic opportunities locally.
