This project will empower 300 rural women through income generating activities, providing capacity building and initial capital for agricultural activities in rural areas. These 300 rural women are mostly vulnerable due to the high poverty levels and economic hardships.
The community is faced with a high rate of poverty, characterized by economic hardships, social injustice, and inequality for rural women. Rural women in these communities lack monetary support since they are unbanked, and worse still they have very little support even from the government. The rural women mostly are widowed and have serious problems in taking care of their children - providing three meals a day is hard, which ends most children into school dropping out and stoppage.
The project will solve this problem by first provide economical support, through initial capital provision for income generating activities, which will boost their income levels. Once they are stable in their income levels, they will be able to support their children by providing three meals a day, send them to school and improve the children' s health livelihoods.
The community will become self-sustaining and highly productive. The rural women will get empowered, in the long run be resilient and self-supporting. The rural women will improve their income status. The children will be able to live healthier lives, will be able to go back to school and be educated.
