This Project will reduce marginalization and vulnerability of Indigenous Communities in different IDPs Camps around Goma. The aim of this project is impact them with new skills so that they can adapt to the choc of displacement caused by the war in North Kivu/DRCongo. This project will first of promote equity towards indigenous communities who are most affected by the current humanitarian crisis in North Kivu.
On one hand, services to IDPs in Camps are based on Equality where people access humanitarian relief aid, and this has left out the specific needs on Indigenous people in IDP Camps who appear more vulnerable, On the other hand Indigenous people are also living in other camps which are not receiving relief aid, and because of their life of staying in the forest they have no other skills and not networks in Goma, this has made them more vulnerable and has exposed to the state of destitution,
We shall reduce stigma buy proving them with basic relief aid which they badly need, build for them better shelters, create awareness about hygiene, the kind of food they should adapt, take them to health centers, introducing their children to school, and train them in life-skills.
This project will at least support 500 Indigenous to become self-reliant through economic activity, basic adult education, and training them in life-skills. This project will help Indigenous people to access existing social services buy reducing stigma and discrimination, And lastly this project will promote a better healthy living conditions to Indigenous people in Camps,
