Some People Chill, But Here We Don’t Sit Still
Summer time is thought of as a time to sit back and chill, to relax and slow down. At Hope and a Home we are doing the opposite. We are revving up for action.
The Hope and a Home children have grand plans for the summer. We have a variety of camps that children are participating in. Some will be attending enriching summer school experiences. Others will attend science and math camps, Building Museum camp, ballet camp, overnight camps, arts and music camps, a specialized diabetes camp , and much more. We want our children to be active and engaged all summer long. We look for camp experiences that will broaden and expand their world. Our staff has researched and made important connections with the camp directors so that our Hope and a Home children will have opportunities that will stimulate learning and have fun doing it. We are looking forward to an exciting summer.
Our children are not the only ones with grand summer plans. Their parents are also on the move. We have a parent getting their LPN nursing certification, another who has graduated from college with an associate’s degree, another in an employment program that will provide the career future she is seeking, and still another who is in a medical training program that is expanding her employment horizons. We also have several parents who are positioning themselves for homeownership. Our college students have returned home for the summer with much success and with high hopes for their future.
We are looking forward to a summer of excitement. Hope and a Home families will not be sitting still!
Please consider supporting our efforts by contributing funds toward summer camp for a child or toward a scholarship fund for our returning college students.
