Hope for Teenage Mothers extended the training beyond boarders and empowered the women in Tanzania .
This training was conducted in Mtwara Tanzania in partnership between T-MARC Tanzania and Hope for Teenage Mothers (HTM) as the Technical consultant (Trainer) on how to make reusable sanitary pads. The training took five days.
Trainers’ observation
It was clear that the women being trained had no expertise on how not make reusable sanitary pads before training and were very eager to learn .The women were well equiped with the skills of trailoring and therefore it was easy to engage them in the theory and technical part of the training.
The trainers briefly went through the topics of child care, sexuality and hygiene. It was clear that the women would have liked to have a share of more on these topic though the main training was on how to make reusable sanitary pads. The women were engaged from the beginning of the training on the sanitary pads making . Various designs were taught gradually using step by step (1-10) of the training kit for .At the end of the training the women were divided into four groups and each group was asked to make a sample of a sanitary pad using a certain design. It was obserbed that the women had understood well and were able to perfect the final product.
We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who enabled this a success.
