Many girls in the arid areas do not get an opportunity to attend school .Most of the girls are married off at a very early age of 7 to 11 years of age.Such girls are left to a cycle of poverty and no education for the future generations.
Some girls from Kajiado county have beaten the odds and have gone back to school and are attending teachers and nursing colleges. These girls want to help the other girls from their communities complete school too .This can only be done through good leadership and mentorship. The girls in this community have set a good example and are mentoring the other young girls during the school holidays. One girl was heard saying, 'I want to complete school so that I can help my community get out of poverty'.Our organzation (HTM) is supporting such girls through organization of mentorship forums and paying part for the school fees the girls who have joined colleges.
Thank you for your continued support.
