The overall objective of the project is to empower 10,000 women and youth both economically and socially by 2018 in Dollo Ado district of Somali Pastoral Regional State, Ethiopia , them to involve fully in development activities to meet the SDGs. Women makes over 51% of the total population of the woreda, however the social economic status of women is very bad in generally Somali regional state and in particularly the woreda. women have very low income , even though they labor more than other HH members and they are among the under privilege people because they work very long hours , must take care of children and maintained their role as child bears ,providers and heads of the HH.
The proposal that will enable those rural poor, who are predominately livestock rearing , to mitigate economical change impacts, increase their daily income through engaging different income generation activities systems which enable them to get survival and sustain their HH economic , while at the same time reducing their dependence on humanitarian aid . The proposed project will not only provide a method of increasing standards of living, but also engage to run small scale petty trading.
