The purpose of this project is to support farmers, producers, cottage industries and very small food companies through the "AgroAnelixi - Farmers of the Future" Accelerator program to develop new products and become sustainable and competitive in rural areas. AgroAnelixi is the only specialized agri-food business acceleration program in Greece that provides holistic support nationwide to farmers, food producers, and small, family-owned "traditional" food processing companies.
Farmers, and producers from small, family-owned and traditional food processing companies often lack entrepreneurial and business skills and knowledge to develop new and innovative products, improve their production services, compete effectively and become sustainable. In rural areas, where many agricultural producers are located, training and consulting support opportunities are limited. Also, Greek food companies do not fully leverage the added value potential of their processed products.
"AgroAnelixi - Farmers of the Future" will support producers in the development of new/innovative products through educational workshops, consulting by market experts, business plan development/evaluation, financial tools, field visits & networking activities. The program contributes to fostering entrepreneurship, promoting the adoption of sustainable practices in agriculture and food production, and to the protection of the environment & natural resources, boosting regional development.
Since 2020, AgroAnelixi program has helped more than 85 producers and family businesses in Greece, stimulating economic growth and creating employment opportunities in rural communities. By promoting sustainable agriculture, AgroAnelixi contributes to environmental conservation and resource management. NANG was established in 2018 with the initiative and donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) within the framework of the Recharging the Youth program.
