The project aims at empowering the drop out adolescent girls of 05 remote tribal villages of Nabarangpur District by setting up Value based literacy and life skill hubs, where about 150 girls would be bridged with quality literacy and life skills so that they continue their learning process to achieve their desired vocational and life goals
The present project seeks to address the problems of tribal adolescent girls of this area living in marginalized condition due to lack of adequate literacy and life skills. As they get enrolled in the schools but most of them drop out without completing their basic education. They are subjected to exploitation with poor sense of dignity, personal hyegine; forced early marriage, dowry torture, poor reproductive health, superstitions leading to shattered family life
The project aims to set up 05 literacy and life skill hubs in remote and under developed villages of Nabarangpur district so as to bridge about 150 adolescent tribal girls in the proposed project intervention. These girls would also be motivated to pursue their life goals and inspire the peers to acquire value based knowledge and practice of life skill would enhance their safety from various forms of exploitation both at household and community level
This project shall enhance the capacity of the tribal adolescent girls to continue their desired educational goals and help maintain the admission and retention ratio around the community schools and the life skills, especially, communication skills shall build in them a sense of self confidence and dignity to manage their own affairs and make life better that of their family and community
