Under this project, 500 families from the poorest communities of Northern Potosi, Bolivia will be empowered thanks to local experts. Here, training will be provided in the field of capacity building, micro-enterprise creation. In the last phase of our project, we aim at the economic growth of the families, the increase of their quality of life, their empowerment towards a self-sustainability of the practices acquired during the whole life of the project. So that they become actors of change !
There are currently 40'000 people in the district of San Pedro de Buena Vista living in extreme poverty. Lack of water, lack of education, lack of gender equality but also lack of economic growth means that these communities are unable to live a dignified life. In addition to an extremely complicated access (on foot or by motorcycle), it makes the daily work difficult. This phase of the project will directly affect more than 500 families.
The SODIS Foundation and its local experts promote simple solutions that save lives. Thanks to a digital application (on their cell phones), we can always be connected and watch over the success of the project. We directly train the local experts so that they can replicate the acquired knowledge to the most needed families. Working remotely but with follow-up we are sure to reduce this social and economic gap.
The project will directly train local experts who are members of these communities. This will allow the population of Norte Potosi to move forward and provide future prospects. We believe in the domino effect, that the empowered families will in turn become the new experts to spread their knowledge towards a self-sustainability of each community.
