Elshaddai Foundation will provide continued support to 2000 HIV/AIDS clients and other members of Kangiwa and Taigwai villages of Chanchaga Local Area of Niger State Nigeria in a year through trained and equipped volunteers; especially in the rainy season when the roads are impassable. We will build the capacity of 30 community volunteers through 7 days training/practicum and equip them with Basic care kits to conduct home visits and outreaches. The volunteers will mentor others for continuity.
Kangiwa and Taigwai villages, Chanchaga Local Government, Niger State Nigeria are hard to reach and HIV/AIDs endemic areas. The geographical terrain makes the roads impassable during rainy season and many lives are lost for lack of health care. Health workers posted to the areas abscond more often. Elshaddai Foundation works there since 2016 and has identified and supports 40 HIV clients and many other patients through 30 community volunteers whose capacity will be built through 7 days training,
7 days training with practicum for 30 community volunteers will hold. ERHDF will procure and stock 30 HBC kits, and distribute to the volunteers to enable them engage in effective home based care and support for the 40 HIV clients and other patients in Kangiwa and Taigwai communities. Project dissemination holds to enable volunteers be handed over to Chanchaga Local Government for sustainability support.. The project will train 30 volunteers, who will mentor others overtime, so that in the future the volunteers' activities will continue. The 30 volunteers and more will reach out to over 40 HIV clients, and other community people through other health outreach screenings and support. Through community help, the volunteers will always tackle other palliative health care challenges and make referrals.
