We, the team of Project Ser Mulher (To Be A Woman) would like to express our huge gratitude and thanks to the donors who kindly contributed funds to our project in November and December of 2009 through the GlobalGiving Open Challenge. With your great generosity we were able to raise a total of U$ 2,075. Although we were not able to reach the target of U$ 4,000 and to secure a long term place on the GlobalGiving site, it was a great experience for us to participate in the Challenge and the funds raised will make a very significant impact on our work with high risk teenage mothers in 2010, helping to buy essential materials such as dypers and milk powder as well as contributing to the provision of our non-formal educational courses. In December, our project beneficiaries participated in several activities focussed on Christmas, making cards and celebrating with small group get – togethers in which we were able to distribute small gifts. The participants greatly enjoyed this opportunity to share experiences and plans for the New Year. Their children were also delighted to receive a Christmas gift and to eat plenty of delicious treats! In 2010 we hope to help improve, transform and empower the lives of many more high risk teenage mothers and their children in the heart of downtown Sao Paulo. We wish you a wonderful 2010 and thank you once again for your interest in and support of our work.
