This project will provide education to children in need in Colombia. They will have a safe and nurturing environment to develop their artistic and bilingual skills, discover their leadership potential and have a healthier growth. They will attend our non-profit bilingual school and will enroll in our afterschool programs.
Siloe is located in the outskirts of the city of Cali. Its population is made up of 35% children in school age. They attend mostly public schools and they spend the rest of the day alone or taken care of by neighbors. Children get bored and choose to go outside the house to engage in activities that put them at risk. Our children need good schools that keep them motivated, afterschool programs, sports, arts, a healthier growth and therapy to cope with the challenges of their surrounding.
If we provide strong educational foundations and healthy food to children, we are helping a generation of Colombians to bridge the gaps of inequality and stay away from drug consumption, vandalism, teenage pregnancy, malnutrition and illiteracy. Having an innovative school and a safe place to spend their time in the afternoons children will find the resources and positive environment to thrive and grow into healthy leaders who will create change in their community.
This project will educate children to rise out of an unequal society that provides the best education and nutrition to the ones who can afford it. By attending our school and aftershool programs, Siloe's children are being empowered to contribute to the development of themselves and in the end of the whole community.
