This project will empower and reinforce a significant number of productive widowed and divorced women in Gaza City in Palestine. After this they will be skilled and they can have their own livelihood, taking care of their children, sponsor their orphans, so they wont rely on charities.
In Gaza Strip, the number of divorced and widowed women is in increasing day after day. The wars that we witness results in lost our best youth as martyrs who leave their families without any breadwinner. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, 16.3% of the Palestinian women are widowed and divorced. This statistic is a dangerous notification that creates an urgent need to care of this an urgent need.
The project's idea is based on rehabilitating and training 150 divorced and widowed female from the people with no income who have the desire to have experience in handicrafts. Those handicrafts include sewing or knitting, hand embroidery and making various pastries, pies and candy. The project aims to rehabilitate the divorced and widowed housewives to convert them from dependents on the human aid and charitable associations into active elements in the economic development.
The project will graduate 150 skilled, trained, and independent widowed and divorced women. By the end of the project they will have a stable job opportunities and having their own livelihood. And they will be turned from depending on the human aid and charitable associations into active elements in the economic development.
