News from La Casa de Panchita

Dear GlobalGiving Supporters,

Summer’s almost gone from this side of the globe, but the energy of the girls and women at La Casa de Panchita is humming as usual. One group of women in particular are always very motivated on Sundays: those in domestic service who want to improve their cooking skills and learn more about nutrition. In small groups, usually no larger than 10, they prepare hot and cold dishes and deserts. Then they have lunch together, sharing tips and recipes.

The women finish this activity around 4pm. It’s been a long day for them at the kitchen, and although a bit tired, they all seem very satisfied with what they’ve learned. We on the staff are so happy to see them building new expertise that will help them negotiate better job conditions.

Thank you again for your support,

Blanca Figueroa
