This project empowers artisanal coffee farmers in Beni and Idjwi, North and South Kivu, DR Congo. We support women-led farming cooperatives to sustainably grow, harvest, and process high-quality coffee. Through training, equipment, and global market access, we strengthen the coffee value chain and uplift rural communities.
In Beni and Idjwi, coffee farmers-especially women-struggle with outdated tools, lack of training, and limited access to markets. Despite rich soil and strong traditions, the region's potential is wasted. Without sustainable investment, farmers cannot compete globally or lift their families out of poverty.
We train local coffee farmers, especially women, in sustainable farming methods, post-harvest processing, and quality control. We provide modern equipment and connect farmers to fair-trade buyers. This boosts production quality, preserves environmental resources, and increases income through access to premium markets.
This project will create lasting economic resilience in Beni and Idjwi by building a thriving, women-led coffee industry. As incomes rise, families can access education, healthcare, and nutrition. Over time, this transforms entire communities and positions Congolese coffee on the global stage with pride and sustainability.
