Increasing numbers of women in Vietnam suffer domestic abuse or are trafficked for sex or labor. These women typically come from poor families, with little or no education. They have few opportunities for safe and dignified employment. In addition, victim services are severely undeveloped in Vietnam, leaving thousands of women in vulnerable situations, with little hope for their futures. Sadly, the children of these women also become increasingly vulnerable and susceptible to abuse, themselves.

Hagar will provide personal development, job readiness, and vocational training to 20 women. Then, survivors will be supported as they reintegrate to society, hold their first jobs, and move from transitional housing to independent living.

Long-Term Impact

Abused and trafficked women will gain tools for a successful and independent future, in order live empowered, successful and independent lives. In some families, generations of individuals will be affected when the cycle of abuse ends.
