Lesotho nowadays is all over news channels because of its poverty, Unstable government, highest unemployment rate and it's a second country in the world with highest HIV prevalence. This project empower youth with sustainable economic development and job creation skills. It will also facilitates ethical leadership skills to ensure democracy and good governance. It will be implemented in 5 districts and 73 community councils of Lesotho and it will impact 500 youth who will impact others.
This is scary... Over 300 000 Lesotho youth are jobless. Lack of employment opportunities and aggressively driven entrepreneurship is also exacerbating despondency and apathy amongst Basotho and threatens peace and stability in the country. Lesotho youth are failing to rise up as the next generation of leaders because of the lack of proper leadership training as a result, the present leadership circumstances remain unchallenged and the country find itself in the vicious circle.
MFDF has developed both 4-Youth-Empowerment-Project and 4YEP Facilitators Training Manual to facilitate 500 Lesotho youth from the age of 18 to 35 years with both social and capital entrepreneurial skills that will help them create community development micro-projects and sustainable community development initiatives. 4YEP will facilitate ethical leadership skills to the youth of Lesotho with the intention to encourage them to participate in democracy and governance issues to be next leaders.
To fight and reduce mother of all problems: Poverty through job creation, to reduce youth unemployment and create sustainable youth development. Both the economy and the standard of living will grow. More youth will be empowered and they will get involved in democracy and governance issues that will bring new leaders with new ideas to solve Lesotho socio economic issues. Lesotho and Basotho will taste peace and stability that will attract more foreign investors, more jobs will be created.
