This life transforming project will help to strengthen the rehabilitation of victims of human trafficking in Nigeria, who often get more frustrated after their rescue, due to lack of sustainable empowerment. With this project, victims will be provided with resources to: a. Start their own businesses b. Enroll in schools Recently, we provided resources to open a business for a Nigerian victim we rescued in 2017. There are many of such victims who are wandering in Nigeria, and are at risk.
Rescuing victims of human trafficking is not enough. Many victims who were rescued within and outside Nigeria are wandering the villages and cities in Nigeria without education, employment and means of income. This makes them vulnerable. Also, some of the rescued victims have been in different shelters for many years waiting for support. There are over 400 victims in Benin City and Abuja who frustrated because of lack of resources for education and to their own businesses.
Devatop Centre for Africa Development through this project ensures that at least 50 victims of human trafficking are: a. Provided with scholarship for finish their basic level of education b. Trained and empowered with basic resources to start businesses c, Equipped with employability skills and assisted to gain employment.
The project will empower 50 victims of human trafficking to rise out of poverty, illiteracy and save them from further exploitations.
