As at June 2015, the NEMA/IOM Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) reports 1,385,298 IDPs in North East States and 20,659 IDPs in Abuja. UNHCR, NEMA and other Government Agencies are working together in North East and Central to curtail the effects of insurgency on IDPs, these IDPs are at risk of Sexual Gender Base Violence, Psychosocial trauma, lack of means of livelihood, access to health and medical care, shelter, wash and education.This project will affect more than 300 IDPs in WASA Abuja.
Phelyn Skill will provides sensitization workshop on SGBV at WASA camp, participants will be drawn from both male and female. A TEAM of medical professionals shall be available to treat rape victims. The children will be supported with nutritional food items. Women will be supported with income generating activities training, and basic account/record keeping. They will be encouraged to train others.
The project will empower 300 women in WASA IDP Settlement, allowing them to rise out of poverty, which will improve the health and well-being of their families.
