Ainembabazi with her goats
Ainembabazi Harriet of kawungu village, Wabusana in Kinuuka Sub – county lives with her four children, 3 boys and one girl all still in Primary section. Harriet received 2 goats this year in July 2012 after RACOBAO constructed her, a house, a pit latrine, Kitchen and beddings. After releasing the situation she was in after the death of his dear husband, Harriet looked so miserable that at one time she even dropped the children in the house but due to the hard work of the local leaders she was brought back to look after her children but in worrying situation.
Harriet is so much excited after her two goats manipulating into others that she can now sustain her needs and even taking care of her children. She thanks a lot RACOBAO that rescued her from the hut she was living in that was almost falling and the goats she was given that can even help her to buy food and continue with her tablets which she had dropped.
RACOBAO sincerely thanks the Global giving fundraisers’ for the work they are doing for the women living with HIV.

Margaret's with her goats
Margaret’s family did not have any source of income to sustain life with the basic needs. Therefore Margaret looked miserable with the maize flour she had received because she wanted money to buy other basic needs. With funding from GlobalGiving RACOBAO decided to also support the same family with three goats to help her improve on her income. She said, “I was living in a difficult life condition in my grass thatched house of mad and wattle with a small plot of land ¼ an acre and with no any animal to sustain my family income to be able to meet the basic needs like food, clothing, home utensils, scholastic materials and paying school fees for my children. My life has changed and I thank God that RACOBAO gave me these goats, they are easily manageable and have quick returns, and very soon I will sell off the siblings and get money to buy basic needs for my children ”.
As RACOBAO we are very grateful to Global Giving for enhancing our capacity to reach such people.

Martha and the two grandsons with their goats
Martha aged 96 years lives with two orphans: Julius (13years) and John (12yrs) who lost both parents to HIV/AIDS in 2008. Martha much as is in her late nineties and her grandsons is happy of their fat and rapid multiplying goats which have helped them to meet most of their basic needs by selling off springs.
“I received two goats in 2011 from RACOBAO which were under gestation and immediately after 3 months they produced 3 offspring’s. I sold two off springs and I was able pay school fees, buy scholastic materials, clothes, paraffin and soap for my grandsons. But before this support of goats RACOBAO had constructed a house, Kitchen, pit latrine and a water tank and given me other sufficient kits like beds, blankets but still we lacked income to sustain our family fortunately after getting these goats, I can now live a happy life because I can see my grand children going to school now in uniforms with books and pencils” Martha said.
Thanks to GlobalGiving for enabling RACOBAO to make such families self-sustaining.
