October 2010 saw some delays with the hiring of candidates that were interviewed. The candidates will commence their work in November. Nevertheless, progress was made with both KESC and Renfro Crescent (both existing employers), who employed a total of 5 additional staff in October.
What was achieved this month?
2 people with visual impairments were hired as call centre representatives at Karachi Electric Supply Corporation.
3 people with hearing impairments were hired as machine operators at the Renfro Crescent socks factory.
What are we proud of?
Evaluations of 14 people with hearing impairments were held, and their CVs sent to Artistic Milliner, a garment manufacturer. NOWPDP is awaiting the results of their interviews.
What companies did we meet, or that agreed to take PWDs?
