The health crisis, stemming from the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and causing the COVID-19 disease, has forced many countries to take drastic measures to prevent rapid spread. In Mexico, of the 52.4 million people in poverty, reported by CONEVAL in 2018, 19.5 are under the age of 18, 3.7 million facing extreme poverty. We seek to serve the population in vulnerable conditions, which was affected by the crisis caused by the health crisis.
The health crisis, derived from the SARS-CoV-2 virus and causing the COVID-19 disease, adds to an already complicated context of poverty and vulnerability in Mexico, especially for children and adolescents, more than 5 million do not have Health services; more than 9 million do not have basic services in their homes; more than 10 million do not have a good diet. Of the 52.4 million people in poverty, 19.5 are minors, 3.7 million in extreme poverty.
In response, this project seeks to serve the population in the most vulnerable conditions, which will be affected by the economic crisis caused by the care measures to SARS Cov 2 - COVID-19. Through 3 axes: Provide direct financial monetary support to families. The alliance "Uniting Efforts for Children" will provide basic inputs for the operation of health care centers. An economic recovery project will be deployed in the municipalities.
The project intends to contribute to the food security of the population in greater conditions of vulnerability, affected by the economic crisis caused by the measures of attention to COVID-19, such as shelters with more than 1,133 people, and aims to support 1,164 families from at least 5 members with a pantry for 6 months.
