Low rainfall has caused intermittent droughts successively for a couple of years now.Lack of food and income has left many families living below the poverty datum line and with the HIV scourge taking its toll, bread winners succumb to prolonged illness and eventually death leaving a large number of orphans who are malnourished.Children are exposed to the risk of contracting HIV as they struggle to support themselves. 34 400 vulnerable children together with their caregivers will benefit.

We offer interventions aimed at empowering communities through livelihood projects, nutrition gardens, income enhancement initiatives, education support, psychosocial support, Health and hygiene education, HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment.

Long-Term Impact

An enhanced income base for socially marginalized OVC and caregivers, access to education leading to self sustainance among OVC, a stock of knowledge in relation to counselling, continued livelihood and self reliance among caregivers and OVC.
